Research Assistant position (f/m/d)

in the Research Group
“Laser Dynamics”
(Head: Priv.-Doz. Dr. Uwe Bandelow). The position starts from 01.07.2025 and is limited to two years.
The work tasks include:
The researcher will work in the field of the research group on the modeling of optoelectronic devices and on the analytical and numerical investigation of such models, using in particular methods from the field of nonlinear dynamics. This includes also the continuation and development of cooperations with application partners.
We are looking for: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or theoretical physics and have good speaking and writing skills in English. We expect experience in at least one of the following topics:
- Modeling and simulation of semiconductor laser devices or nonlinear optics.
- Analytical and numerical investigation of nonlinear effects such as pulse dynamics, bifurcations, or multiple time scales.
- Mathematical theory of delay-differential equations or partial differential equations in the context of concrete application problems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research leading to publications in international journals
- Present results at international conferences and workshops
- Contribution to proposals for third party funding and cooperation with application partners
